Skiathos Island

Skiathos

Skiathos is the most cosmopolitan island of the Sporades, a cluster of three islands in the Aegean Sea (Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos), which are located in the area north of Evia and East of Magnesia. The green Island of Skiathos is covered from end to end with pine forest, which ends up next to the sea waves, giving the island -and to Sporades in general- a common characteristic, a distinctive feature when compared to most islands in the Aegean.

On the perimeter, the stunning coastline makes it a real paradise, as there are more than 60 beaches, bedazzling visitors with their white-gold sand and crystal clear waters. Many of these often get considerable excellence awards from tourist agencies worldwide. Koukounaries (Chrysi Ammos / Golden Sand) is the most popular beach of the island and one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, followed by Lalaria Beach, one of the most beautiful in Greece and Banana Beach, which got its name due to its shape.
There are a large number of lodgings scattered on the island, as well as a wide variety, ranging from 5 star hotels or villas to cheaper accommodation options in studios or campsites for nature lovers.

Out of the town and apart from the beaches, there are remarkable destinations such as the lake, which is a wetland and passage of migratory birds and the scenic piney region of Pounda; the water path Port-Lalaria-Castle is also great fun.
Skiathos is one of the most vibrant and youthful destinations in Greece, as it promises a vacation with great dives, romantic explorations but also intense nightlife, combining serenity, tranquility and fun.
