Skopelos
Skopelos is the second island of the Northern Sporades, located after Skiathos and before Alonissos. It is the greenest island in Greece and is characterized by dense forests and very blue sea. It is a beautiful land, a small idyllic paradise, more than 67% of which is covered by virgin pine forest Crystal beaches of extraordinary beauty surround this island, the most important of which is Kastani, which became known from the film “Mamma Mia” and the beach of Stafylos, which is the beach closest to the town of Skopelos (only 4 km awat), Milia Beach, which for many is the best beach of the island, with lovely coast with pebbles and sand, a canteen, a beach bar and water sports rental available and Panormos, for those who prefer the comforts of a fully organised beach, combined with a truly beautiful coast.Skopelos reserves its traditional character to a greater extent than the neighboring island of Skiathos, and is considered more serene, but at the same time very qualitative and delightful as a destination, with excellent tourist infrastructure and very remarkable lodgings, many of which are bungalow-type, such as villas for rent, not lacking however top choices of 5-star hotels
The town of Skopelos has been declared as a traditional settlement by Presidential Decree, mainly because of its architecture, which is the result of various architectural styles, giving majestic nature to the capital of the island.

The town of Skopelos (Chora) is available for incredible wandering in the beautiful alleys, where one can discover the Venetian castle of Gysi, the old Diocese (Bishop’s house), the Folklore Museum, the Ancient Asklipieion in Ampeliki, as well as the home of the writer Pavlos Nirvanas.
What is more, the stroll in the town can be combined with shopping from the beautiful, traditional folk art shops of handmade ceramics, jewelry and clothes; one can also delight in gorgeous local cuisine dishes such as the famous pie of Skopelos (skopelitiki pita).
Apart from the town of Skopelos, the other picturesque villages of the island, such as Glossa, Palio Klima and Elios, are also worth a visit.
The same for the many monasteries and chapels and especially the monasteries of Evangelistria, Metamorphosi Sotiros, Agios Ioannis the Baptist, Zoodochos Pigi, Aghios Taxiarchis in Vatos and Agia Varvara.
