Lefkada
This is the fourth largest island in size and population in the Ionian Sea and ,along with the Evia, are the only two islands in Greece, accessed by road. The two lagoons of the island are considered two of the most significant wetlands in the Ionian Sea, and are protected by the international Ramsar Convention.The most famous beaches of the island are Kathisma, Egremni and Porto Katsiki, while the waterfalls at Dimosari and Melissa (bee) Canyon also attract tourists. As for watersports, Lefkada is an enviable destination for kitesurfing and windsurfing on the beaches of Ai Giannis and Vasiliki respectively, as these beaches are ranked in the top 10 in the world for such extreme sports as well as for diving, waterskiing, sailing, horseriding and cycling.
